I learnt leaded glass and copper foiling initially at evening classes. My tutor was an experienced stained glass artist who was successful in her own right and was often asked to carry out restoration work. I developed my skills over 8 years whilst still working in education.
I then applied to ECA to study glass full time with the intention of developing a new career in this field.
Since attending college I have become more interested in glass casting and have developed my knowledge by attending master classes with well known glass artists.
I love the practical, physical nature of working with glass. I enjoy the problem solving involved and I am learning to accept the unpredictable nature of warm glass.
Ideally I would like to combine my teaching ability with my glass knowledge.
